Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue

The foster individual(s) acknowledge(s) the purposes and aims of Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., and recognizes the reasonable interest in assuring the proper and humane treatment of rescue Alaskan Klee Kai during temporary placement with the foster home. The foster individual(s) attest that no member of the family has been charged with cruelty to animals and agree(s) to accept the following conditions and restrictions in order to be eligible to provide a foster home for rescue Alaskan Klee Kai.

The foster home will keep the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai indoors, in a securely fenced yard, or in a kennel run. It will not be tied to a doghouse or to a chain/tether/cable. It will be kept securely on a leash held by a person if it is not in a safely, securely enclosed area.

The foster home will provide the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai with an adequately fenced exercise yard and/or will walk the dog on a leash daily. At no time will any Alaskan Klee Kai be allowed to run loose while unattended.

The foster individual(s), when away from home for over a twelve hour period, will find a suitable boarding facility or pet sitter to care for the Alaskan Klee Kai.

The foster home acknowledges that their residence, if rented, permits pets pursuant to the lease, or by special permission of the landlord or resident manager.

The rescue Alaskan Klee Kai will never be attack- or guard-trained or used as a property guard dog. Further, this dog will never be used in any aspect of dog/animal fighting.

The foster family will provide rescue Alaskan Klee Kai with all the care and attention necessary to ensure their health and well being. This will include providing sufficient food, clean water, exercise, competent veterinary care, annual vaccinations, de-worming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea/tick prevention, and prompt veterinary care in the event of illness or injury. The foster home will give the rescue coordinator receipts for all medical expenses and will maintain the expense log for any rescue Alaskan Klee Kai in their care.

The rescue Alaskan Klee Kai will not be abused or neglected in any manner. The rescue Alaskan Klee Kai will not be beaten, neglected, or otherwise treated cruelly, and will not be the subject of, or subjected to any detrimental psychological experiments.

In the event the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai is lost or stolen, the foster individual(s) will contact the rescue coordinator immediately, alert local shelters and veterinary offices, advertise in major newspapers and make all reasonable attempts to locate the animal.

The foster individual(s) shall not give, lease, or otherwise transfer custody of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai to any other person, or to any business or organization, except to return the dog to the Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., or the adoptive home once the adoption contract has been signed and approved.

The foster individual(s) will promptly notify Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., of all and any changes in residence, mailing address, and/or telephone number.

The foster individual(s) will notify Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., immediately of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai’s death and/or illness or injury.

The foster individual(s) must notify Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., within 12 hours of any bite by the Alaskan Klee Kai inflicted on ANY human or another animal not owned by the foster individual(s).

The foster individual(s) recognize(s) the need to ensure that the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai is receiving proper and humane care, and agrees to allow inspection of the foster home and the conditions in which the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai is living, at any reasonable time by a representative of Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc.

The foster individual(s) agree(s) to immediately surrender custody of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai to a rescue representative upon request. The foster individual(s) agree(s) that the foster individual(s) has/have no legal ownership and will not obtain any legal rights to the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai in their care, unless they choose to go through the adoption process and are accepted as a qualified adoptive family.

Should it be necessary to litigate in connection with any dispute concerning the care, treatment, and/or custody of a rescue animal directly under the care of the foster home, the foster individual(s) agree(s) to pay all court costs and reasonable attorney fees.

The foster individual(s) recognize(s) that although Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., has made reasonable efforts to provide a rescue Alaskan Klee Kai which is compatible with the foster individual's environment, the foster home agrees that Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., does not warrant the temperament or behavior of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai and that Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., is not to be held liable for any acts of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai while living with the foster individual(s). The foster family agrees to notify Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., immediately if they believe the temperament or behavior of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai is incompatible with the foster home environment.

The foster individual(s) state(s) that they have reasonable knowledge about the proper care of dogs and more specifically, Alaskan Klee Kai. The foster home agrees to be responsible for the proper supervision of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai in their possession. Should Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., suffer any damages or legal costs as a result of the negligent supervision of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai in the foster home's care, the foster individual(s) agree(s) to indemnify Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., for all such damages and costs.

The foster individual(s) acknowledge(s) that the purpose of Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc., in establishing the conditions in this agreement is to safeguard the health and well-being of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai, to protect the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai against neglect, abuse and cruelty and to temporarily house a rescue Alaskan Klee Kai until a permanent home is found. The foster individual(s) enter(s) into this Agreement freely and with knowledge.

The foster family agrees to keep a log and to notify the rescue coordinators of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai’s positive and negative behaviors, likes, dislikes, fears, etc. and what actions to correct or encourage such behaviors has worked successfully for the foster family. The foster family agrees to relate any information that may better enable the rescue coordinators to find the best possible home for the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai. A copy of this log will be passed on to the eventual adoptive family with the rest of the rescue Alaskan Klee Kai’s paperwork and adoption forms.

The above information is true to the best of my knowledge and ability. I understand that completion of this application does not guarantee Foster Care for Alaskan Klee Kai National Rescue, Inc. I acknowledge that if my application is chosen the above information will become part of the Foster Care Agreement.
